EQUITY POLICY STATEMENT

The English Target Shooting Federation (ETSF) aims to ensure that all people irrespective of their age, gender, race, religion, ethnic origin, colour, social status or sexual orientation have a genuine and equal opportunity to represent England at international level and in all roles. That is as a competitor, official or spectator. An official is being an officer, coach, manager, or administrator appointed by the ETSF.

  • It is the aim of the ETSF to ensure that all present and potential England team members and officials receive fair treatment.
  • It is the aim of the ETSF to provide a selection policy that is fair and transparent to everyone.
  • It is the aim of the ETSF to provide, if requested, any of its services in a way that is fair to everyone.
  • It is the aim of the ETSF in its relationships with its arms length membership and in disposing of its remit to selection England teams, not to disadvantage any individual by imposing any condition or requirement that cannot be fully justified.

In pursuance of this policy, the ETSF will take into account the:

Race Relations Act 1976
Sex Discrimination Act 1975, 1986, 1999
Disability Discrimination 1995
Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974
Firearms Act 1997
Human Rights Act 2000

In pursuance of this policy the ETSF reserves the right to discipline any of its team members or officials who practise any form of discrimination on the grounds of a persons age, gender, race, religion, ethnic origin, creed, colour social status or sexual orientation.

The ETSF will monitor and evaluate this policy on an ongoing basis and inform its constituent membership bodies of its impact.
