Strong and blustery winds were the order of the day for England against the teams competing in the BCRC overseas match.
Our first competitive match to test the coaches and firers was set in a friendly, convivial atmosphere. Starting at 5.30pm at 300 yards the wind bracket was between 1 and 3 minutes – unusual at that time in the evening, not ideal conditions for finding your wind zero.
Rain threatened throughout the evening but fortunately didn’t materialise. However the temperature had dropped a good 10 degrees from the previous week, causing jackets to appear for most.
It was great to see Kenya, Canada and teams from down under on the range. Congratulations to the BCRC team for their great shooting. We finished 6th out of 9 teams, with Kit Crabtree top scoring with 147.22 ex 150.
After the match, dinner was served at Fat Tony’s, giving many a chance to catch up with friends from across the globe for the first time this year.

Thanks to all that made themselves available to plot, coach and shoot, we look forward to the next match on our journey to the West Indies Full Bore Championship in 2026.
