Er….it wasn’t. Oh dear! Bag of rice anyone??

Ultimately it was a last opportunity to experience something on this beautiful island.

As the day progressed the coaches came together to finalise plans for tomorrow’s match against the West Indies.

Part of this process was the preparation of team plots: which soon turned into a realisation that we were going to be short of them.
It’s at this point that two team members established that “photocopier “, “ink”, and “paper” weren’t necessarily all at the same place, at the same time.
As a result, with sun setting, the teams resident “librarian ” came up with a cunning plan…”let’s try the local police station”.
Well….it worked. 24 copies later and we were saved!
This diarist walked into the station during a 16 hour shift, on the day of the general election, with celebrations due to start at 02:00. It was a pleasant surprise that the duty police corporal didn’t say “hop it, do one”.
We did have to wait a while as they cranked up the machine. However, they came through for us.
Thank you Antigua Constabulary.

Finally, after the team briefing, we were contacted by the grand agg champion (Ed Feast) with a request to come and collect him from the airport as his flight home had been cancelled.
Ed was dropped off to be reunited with his team mates, greatly relieved he didn’t have to queue up to get a room …. unlike the other 200+ passengers that had also been brought to the hotel for the night.

We can always tell where the team are when we’re around resort, the bright red Ion8 water bottles sit on tables or by loungers. They have been invaluable, and the individual names printed on them mean that we don’t accidentally drink someone else’s dioralyte!
