Tuesday morning kicked off with yet another 06.00am wake up call, with first shots down the range scheduled for 08.00. Two individual matches, the Dalrymple Cup, shot at 300m and 600m and the Dave Smith Cup shot at 900m.
Alastair managed the only 50 at 300m, with Phil CS shooting the only 55 at 600m, giving them the first and second places out of the England team members for the morning. Conditions were moderate but then the fishtailing winds started to pick up before the Dave Smith Cup, where Jumbo and Martin managed to both score 48’s to lead the pack.
Following a brief lunch, the team then prepared itself for the next club match, the Rhodes Cup, to be shot at 800m and 900m, providing valuable experience in advance of the RCA International Match on Wednesday at the same distances.
We entered three teams of six, similar to yesterday’s format, with NLRC, England 1 and England 2, coached by Adam, Rupert R and Graham. Conditions were readable, albeit quite uncomfortable for those on the firing points as the temperatures soared. Top scorer was Kit with 99.07, with Turbo, Andy Daw, Nigel, Roo and Jumbo all close behind on 98 ex 100.
The evening fell into a similar format of pushing bullets, sorting kit, grabbing something to eat, ready for another early rise.
