Rupert first picked up a rifle at the age of 13 while at the Oratory School, and has been hooked ever since. In 2010 he shot for the UKCRT on tour to Jersey, returning to the island in 2018 with the Cardinals. In 2019 Rupert had the honour of captaining the Army Target Rifle Team’s tour to South Africa.

After a short hiatus from shooting due to the operational tempo of the Army, he is now back shooting regularly and is currently the Army Target Rifle Team Adjutant. The highlight of his shooting career so far is scoring a 75.14 in Georges 1 (to place second) and not entering the Ghurkha appeal – you only make that mistake once.

Away from the firing point, Rupert is a Major in the Royal Tank Regiment, currently based in Northwood HQ. His home life is full of energy thanks to his wife Becca, our two-year-old son Elliot, and irrepressible Dalmatian Sprocket. Between the Army, family, and the range, there’s rarely a quiet moment – but he wouldn’t have it any other way.
