Sarah started shooting at the University of London, mainly in smallbore with occasional visits to Bisley for fullbore. However, this was followed by a short break (of over twenty-five years!) due to concentrating on her career and overcoming all the obstacles to become a consultant HPB surgeon. She finally returned to Bisley in 2005 and has been shooting regularly ever since. During this time, Sarah spent 3 years captaining the North London Rifle Club, including touring with them twice, firstly to the Jersey Rifle Association’s 150th meeting in 2011 and to the Spirit of America meeting, at Raton, New Mexico in 2014. She made her debut with England for the European Long Range Championships in 2013 and has since toured as Captain on the NRA team to the Channel Islands in 2015.
Away from Bisley, Sarah’s other interests include golf, gardens, cars and occasional skiing, but also smallbore and game shooting. She is looking forward to her first England tour and hopes (as do the team! – Ed) that the only thing anyone catches is “the touring bug”, adding the field of tropical medicine to her professional repertoire as the official Team Doctor.
