Some of the team were awoken slightly earlier than planned by biblical quantities of rain thrashing on the hotel tin roof at 4am. By 6:45am it had cleared and the team met for breakfast under hot, humid, but clear skies.
D+1 Acclimatisation
Dawn broke on the team’s first full day in Guyana. Breakfast could be taken between 07:00 and 10:00. Most of the team thought they would pop down and eat at 09:00. No chance. With most awake at 04:00, when breakfast

Finally the team was ready to begin its 20 hour journey to Guyana. That would be the whole team minus the diarist, who claimed he was “about a minute away” when leaving his room for the 15 minute walk down
Day -1 Keep Calm and Carry On (but not that, please)
After some debate between military and non-military personnel, we settled that today was D-1, and tomorrow shall be D-Day. Anyone who has toured before will know that D-1/packing has the potential to derail very quickly if we are not on

No, that’s not a typo. We don’t actually leave until Monday, yet the team assembled on Friday evening for our final warm-up match on Saturday against the NRA team that tours to the Channel Islands in May. Hence, Day Minus
Tour & Team Update
We can now confirm that the 2026 England Tour to the West Indies will take place Monday 13th April to Sunday 3rd May, the team first visiting Guyana, followed by Antigua to compete in the West Indies Fullbore Shooting Council
