The day started / finished earlier for some. Some were woken by an accidental lockout. Thank you reception.
A slower start was entirely predictable. Al Brown’s second birthday of the week had been celebrated with considerable enthusiasm, with the humble Painkiller doing its utmost to finish off what the first birthday had started. The team were scattered across various sun loungers and quiet corners of the resort in varying states of recovery — with the notable exception of Sasha and Vonchek, who checked themselves in for massages to address the physical toll of what has been, by any measure, an exhausting acclimatisation period. The precise activities responsible for this muscular fatigue remain, to this correspondent, entirely unclear.
A more spirited contingent departed early for a full circuit of the island, while the afternoon saw the majority exercise the altogether sounder judgement of heading to Dickenson Bay for the floating “Kon Tiki” bar. Seven headed to Scuba & snorkelling for their trail with underwater breathing apparatus, large fish viewing ensued.
A new refreshment going by the name of “Moose Tranquiliser” was created, it was explained, for having accounted for one touring party member the previous day. I’m sure it will make its way to Bisley.
Sunset brought beach volleyball, Top Gun rules, properly inflated ball this time and before a competitive games night rounded off the evening. The night closed, fittingly, to the sound of a steel band drifting across the resort.
