Tuesday 3rd
This morning we departed early to head for the airport for our short flight to Tobago. It was a good job we left the hotel early as all 4 cars got lost at some point on the way and had to battle through some seriously horrendous rush hour traffic. There seemed to be very few rules of the road in force and we were all grateful to arrive at the airport in one piece with no car damages we might have to explain to the hire car rep.
At the airport we waited patiently for a small plane to take us the 20 minute hop across to Tobago. Here we got new hire cars and headed to our hotel in Mount Irvine bay our home for the next 4 nights. The hotel was impressive to all, as we were greeted with complimentary rum punches on arrival and found our rooms all adjacent to a beautiful aquamarine pool complete with swim up bar.
After dropping off our bags in our rooms we had a quick rendezvous in the pool where we had a few cocktails and our resident Sergeant in charge of entertainment, Charlie, read us our rights for the next 4 days where we’d be enjoying a really well thought out range of activities which you’ll be hearing about over the next few day’s diaries…
