I am honoured to have been appointed as Captain for England in the 2025 National Match. For the match I have appointed Graham Nelson as my Adjutant and Derek Lowe as my main coach.

We are hoping to retain the National Trophy. In line with Club policy, half of the team will consist of those who have not shot more than once before and at least five will not have shot in the National match at all before. To be eligible, make sure you’ve entered the Club Championship and you’re up to date with your subs.

The Captaincy includes leading teams in the RAF Match in May and the Lawrence Match during the Scottish Open in June.

The RAF Match is on Saturday May 17th and it is an opportunity for aspiring uncapped and once capped shooters to develop their match skills and demonstrate their abilities. To apply to shoot, please send an email to national@englishtwenty.org.uk

The current Lions squad have been given priority but there are still plenty of places to shoot. The team will be selected one month before the match. Practice targets will be available in the morning. 50% of the cost of targets and markers will be covered by the Club, the rest, along with ammo will be paid by the team.

The Scottish Open will be held from 13th -15th June, with the Lawrence Match on the afternoon of Saturday 14th. It’s a great meeting on an amazing range and well worth considering making the trip to take part.

I look forward to selecting some of you to represent England in the National Match and I wish you all good shooting for the 2025 season.
