The club is sad to announce the passing of Robin Pizer this week following a recent period of illness.

Robin was a member of the club for many decades and was a keen lifelong supporter of both British and English shooting. At English level he achieved the rare feat of having served as both Adjutant and Captain for all three of the Lawrence, Mackinnon and National matches and at GB level, Robin captained the Kolopore team in 2009. In Match Rifle he was a Hopton winner, as well as variously representing England in the Elcho Match.

Following a period as club President, Robin remained as an active participant on the club’s Council, ex officio as a Past President, up until the point of his passing. He also continued in his long-serving role as Secretary of the Council of the National Match. Throughout this time he also contributed to the Club as our archivist, retaining and managing extensive records of the club’s history and activities, which often proved to be an important source of reference.

After his retirement from actively shooting, Robin continued to foster participation in the sport by donating his rifles and equipment for the use of young shooters, ensuring his ongoing support for years to come.
