It is with much sadness that we report the passing of Ken Day who died peacefully on Saturday 24th April after a long battle against illness.
Ken had been a member since 1975 when he joined the Essex District before then moving to Suffolk and shot regularly up to 2019. Ken was a reserve for the National in 1980 and shot in the match in 1988 and then again in 1989, when he was the only firer to score a 105 from all 4 nations. In 2001 he came second in HM The Queen’s Prize wearing his wife’s jacket, as he had left his own at home. He also won the Donaldson Memorial in the 1980s.
The Club extends its condolences to his wife, Frieda, and their son Henry, both well known on Bisley common.
