The firearms-related clauses will effectively ban 0.5” calibre rifles & MARS actions.
Neither of these types have been used in crime & there do not appear to be viable statistics or risk assessments to back up any need for legislative change. It throws doubt at the current FAC system as being weak & perhaps ineffective. Moreover, from ONS information, the main type of firearm used in crime is a handgun, illegal in this country!
