I am honoured to have been appointed Captain of the England Touring Team to Trinidad to compete in the 2026 West Indies Fullbore Rifle Championships.
I am delighted to announce that Martin Liversage has kindly agreed to be my Vice Captain and that my Co-Adjutants will be Adam Leech and James Lewis.
The tour will take place in April 2026 (exact dates pending) with plans to visit another island and take part in a local competition before heading to Trinidad to compete in both the Individual and Team elements of the West Indies Fullbore Rifle Championships. I envisage a total tour duration of three weeks.
Having toured the West Indies before, with some of us shooting against a strong Trinidad team at the excellent Tucker Valley Range as recently as 2017, the management team will look to organise a successful tour with regard to a competitive performance on the range combined with a highly enjoyable tour encompassing the best elements of Caribbean hospitality.
I hope to select a touring team comprising both experienced England tourists and a significant number of less experienced individuals who wish to further their shooting and coaching at an international level, some of whom may not have either toured or represented England previously.
Three team training weekends are planned for 3-4 May 2025, 4-5 October 2025, and early 2026.
I invite applications from all full members of the English Twenty Club who wish to be considered for selection on this tour. If you wish to apply, please download and complete the application form, and return to trinidad2026@englishtwenty.org.uk. Applications close Sunday 30th March.
Successful applicants will be notified in early April to allow sufficient time for fundraising and diary planning.
